Alexei Rakhmanov, General Director of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), said that by the end of 2023 the Russian Navy will receive the Emperor Alexander III nuclear submarine and the Krasnoyarsk nuclear submarine.
“Sevmash is to hand over to the fleet one nuclear submarine of the Borey-A (Emperor Alexander III) and Yasen-M (Krasnoyarsk) projects, and the Admiralty Shipyards – three diesel-electric submarines of the Lada projects “and” Varshavyanka “,” said Alexei Rakhmanov in a conversation with TASS on the eve of the International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS-2023).
“Imperator Alexander III” is the seventh project 955 nuclear submarine missile cruiser and the fourth ship of the improved project 955A. It was laid in December 2015, in December 2022 – lowered to the water. The Navy said that it would be transferred to the Pacific Fleet.
Krasnoyarsk is the second serial submarine and the third ship of Project 885M. She was laid down in 2014 and launched in July 2021. She is also going to be transferred to the Pacific Fleet.
