The match between the football teams of Russia and Serbia is scheduled for March 21, 2024. The Secretary General of the Football Union of Serbia, Jovan Surbatovich, spoke about this on Wednesday, December 20.
As a sports official noted in a commentary for Sport24, permission to hold this game has already been received from UEFA, and everything has been agreed upon with the Russian side.
The game will take place on March 21, 2024 at the Dynamo stadium in Moscow, Surbatovich clarified.
Earlier, the President of the Russian Football Union, Alexander Dyukov, said that the Russian national team could play friendly matches with teams from South America in 2024. He stressed that this is a “football continent”, so “it is important for us to play with teams from South America, and also to travel there.”
At the same time, the Russian Football Union refused to join the Asian Confederation, deciding to remain in UEFA and try to break into international matches through this organization. The RFU explained that even if they moved to Asia, Russian teams would not receive automatic permission to play – only illusions and hopes for support.
