The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put ICC Chairman Hofmansky on the wanted list

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put the Chairman of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Pyotr Hofmansky on the wanted list, as follows from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ search database.

The card says that the basis for the search is an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. However, it is not specified under what specific article he is wanted.

At the end of July, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced wanted by ICC judge Tomoko Akane. In her regard, March 20 was excited a criminal case on the fact of knowingly illegal detention and preparation for an attack on a representative of a foreign state (part 2 of article 301, part 1 of article 30, part 2 of article 360 ​​of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). A similar case was filed against two other judges, Rosario Salvatore Aitala and Sergio Gerardo Ugalde Godinez.

At the same time, the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against ICC prosecutor Karim Ahmad Khan under a similar article, as well as for the fact of bringing a knowingly innocent person to criminal liability (part 1 of article 30, part 2 of article 360, part 2 of article 299 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ).

In early May, Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin reportedthat the Investigative Committee is preparing to put on the wanted list the court prosecutor, chairmen and three judges who decided to issue an arrest warrant for Putin. Judge Rosario Aitala has been on the wanted list since June 22; prosecutor Khan was put on the wanted list on May 19. They already presented in absentia accusation.

On March 17, the Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and children’s ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. The head of state’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, then said that the ICC decisions have no legal force and are void.
