The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations predicts a disruption of power supply in 15 regions due to bad weather

Specialists from the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations (VNII GOChS) under the Ministry of Emergency Situations predict disruptions in the power supply this week due to wind gusts of up to 30 m/sec and precipitation in places of up to 25 mm in 15 regions of Russia. This was announced by the head of the All-Russian Research Institute of Civil Defense and Emergencies Maxim Bedilo at a conference call of the ministry, reports press service Institute.

Mr. Bedilo said that the All-Russian Research Institute of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations also predicts restrictions on transport links and the resulting disruptions in the operation of life support systems for the population. Bad weather is expected in the Kamchatka Territory, the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, the Magadan Region, the northern group of islands of the Great Kuril Ridge, the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Chelyabinsk Region, the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, the republics of Adygea, North Ossetia and Crimea, the Rostov, Leningrad, Novgorod and Pskov regions.

On the night of November 27, the south of Russia was covered by the most powerful storm in the entire history of observations. Several people are known to have died as a result of the disaster, but it cannot be ruled out that this list is incomplete. And in the Aquarium-Museum of Sevastopol, about 800 freshwater animals died, including more than 50 rare species of fish and turtles. The hurricane wind left almost 2 million Russians without electricity, according to the Ministry of Energy. Storm brought to stop the operation of ports and disrupted the shipment of major export cargo, including oil and grain. The Hydrometeorological Center warned that there are two more difficult weather days ahead.
