Russian crews of Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems of the Western Military District provide continuous protection of Russian troops from enemy air attacks. Video footage of the operation of these complexes was published by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Complexes “Tor-M2” have the ability to scan the environment 360 degrees and determine the approaching objects at a distance of more than 30 km. They are equipped with an automatic transmission, a digital platform, all-round cameras and even air conditioning. In addition, these complexes have high cross-country ability and are able to overcome obstacles with a diameter of up to one meter without losing speed. They can work in any conditions, including situations where they are exposed to enemy fire.
“We completed the combat mission right in front of the nose of the enemy. We arrived almost at the front line, the enemy was literally in front of us. We completed the task, worked out. The enemy, of course, did not expect such courage from us. He began to fire at us with artillery, mortars, ” – said the head of the calculation of the “Tor-M2” air defense system, nicknamed “Kazakh”.
These complexes are highly resistant to shelling, which is a demoralizing factor for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Military experts note that there are no analogues to such complexes in any other army in the world.
The crew of “Tor-M2” has a kind of talisman – Cheburashka toy from the Soviet cartoon. Soldiers say it reminds them of home and boosts their morale. The soldiers know that they will soon be able to return to their families.
“Cheburashka creates for us an atmosphere of comfort and home inside the car. He is always with us. Soon we will return with a victory,” said the driver of the Tor-M2 air defense system, nicknamed Mikhalych.
