Macron previously said that he could not completely rule out the possibility of sending NATO troops to Ukraine. After a loud uproar over these words, the politician clarified that he was talking exclusively about a hypothetical scenario. Following this, he stated that the French authorities could agree to conduct operations to “confront Russian troops” in Ukraine.
The head of the left-wing party “Unbowed France,” Manuel Bompard, said that Macron, with his ill-considered statements about Western troops in Ukraine, only played into the hands of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The politician noted that instead of achieving the goal, the French leader effectively eliminated the possibility of such a strategy.
