Andrey Kondrashov from the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company appointed TASS CEO
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree under which Sergey Mikhailov, director general of the TASS news agency, was relieved of his post. Andrey Kondrashov, who was previously the first deputy general director of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, was appointed as the new head.
TASS in its note notes that Mikhailov, who headed the agency since 2012, turned it “into a competitive player in the complex media market”, under him “tremendous modernization work was carried out”, and TASS “opened broadcasting in all UN languages.”
Kondrashov graduated from the faculty of journalism, and later – a master’s degree from the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation with a degree in Political Science, TASS points out. He has worked on television since 1991, is a TEFI award winner, has state awards, including for coverage of events in Crimea.
