In the first quarter of next year, the last meeting of the Russian-German forum “Petersburg Dialogue” will take place, after which it will cease to exist, writes the German magazine Spiegel.
The Petersburg Dialogue Forum has been operating since 20021, initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
Reportedly, in the first quarter of next year, an extraordinary meeting will be held, convened by the board of directors of the forum. The dissolution of the “Petersburg Dialogue” is actually a foregone conclusion, the newspaper writes, but it will be officially proposed for consideration on November 22.
The forum worked with the aim of bringing the public of Russia and Germany closer together, deepening mutual understanding between the countries. Well-known figures of politics, culture and the media took part in the forum.
