The authorities of the Zaporozhye region dismissed the mayor of Energodar Alexander Volga. It is reported by TASS with reference to a source in the regional administration.
According to the interlocutor of the agency, the Volga was not only fired, but also banned from staying in the region. According to the source, the decree on dismissal was signed by the Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye region Yevgeny Balitsky.
Volga himself, in an interview with TASS, did not confirm the information about his dismissal. He stressed that he is now on vacation.
On the territory of Energodar there is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of installed capacity – the Zaporozhye NPP. Since March, this territory has been under the control of Russian troops and has been subjected to regular shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
