The Russian Foreign Ministry was outraged by Kyiv’s threats against Russian journalists

Russian Foreign Ministry expressed outrage over threats against Russian journalists and public figures from the official representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defense forces, American transgender Sarah Ashton-Cirillo.

“Russia is outraged by yet another manifestation of the terrorist essence of the Kiev regime, which, with the connivance of its Western sponsors, is spreading death threats against Russian journalists, war correspondents, government and public figures,” says a message on the Foreign Ministry website.

In her statement, Cirillo, the Foreign Ministry noted, made direct calls for the murder of employees of Russian media and organizations covering the conflict in Ukraine.

“The statements of S. Ashton-Cirillo, other Ukrainian neo-Nazis and their sponsors serve as irrefutable evidence for the entire world community of the terrorist nature of the bloody Zelensky regime,” the foreign policy department believes.

The Russian side, in turn, is studying such statements for legal assessment and will seek an adequate response from relevant international structures.

On July 15, the FSB announced the prevention of preparations by the Ukrainian special services for the murder of the editor-in-chief of the RT television channel Margarita Simonyan. According to the service, Kyiv also planned the murder of journalist Ksenia Sobchak. Members of a neo-Nazi group were detained in Moscow and the Ryazan region; they conducted reconnaissance “at the work and residence addresses” of Simonyan and Sobchak, the report said.

Before this, the FSB prevented a number of tragedies, said State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin: attempts on the lives of journalists Vladimir Solovyov, Simonyan, Dmitry Kiselev, Evgeny Popov, Olga Skabeeva, Tigran Keosayan, the founder of the Tsargrad TV channel Konstantin Malofeev, the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov. Since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine, military correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky and political scientist Daria Dugina have been killed in the Russian Federation; the writer Zakhar Prilepin also survived an assassination attempt.
