Russian Foreign Ministry: Wanting to send troops to Ukraine, Macron is playing with fire
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking about sending a French military contingent to the Northern Military District zone, is literally playing with fire.
Alexey Polishchuk, head of the second department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said this in an interview with TASS.
“Politicians calling for military intervention in Ukraine are playing with fire,” – said diplomat in response to Macron’s statement to send the military to Ukrainian territory.
Polishchuk added that there are politicians who are capable of neglecting the interests of their country, putting the political situation above the desires of ordinary citizens. The diplomat even doubted that the French leader was fully aware of all the political risks of such a step. He called Macron’s intention political infantilism.
Earlier, the French President announced the possibility of sending ground troops to Ukraine. At the same time, the president said that he would not ask for help from NATO, no matter how things went on the battlefields with Russia.
