The Russian Foreign Ministry ruled out the settlement of the conflict according to Zelensky’s “formula”

The settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is impossible on the basis of the “peace formula” proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. About it says in the comments of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, published on the website of the department.

“We reaffirm our position on the so-called “peace formula” of Zelensky, which the Kiev regime and the West are trying to promote during such meetings. None of its 10 points is aimed at finding a negotiated and diplomatic solution to the crisis, and their totality is a senseless ultimatum from Russia, which is aimed at protracting hostilities. On such a basis, a peaceful settlement is impossible,” she stressed.

Zakharova explained that the settlement of the conflict will be possible only after Kyiv ceases hostilities and terrorist attacks, and the West stops supplying weapons to Ukraine. “The original foundations of Ukraine’s sovereignty must be confirmed – its neutral, non-aligned and non-nuclear status,” she added.

On August 5-6, negotiations between national security advisers and political advisers were held in Jeddah, where Ukraine was supposed to present its “peace formula”. The meeting was attended by about 40 states, but it was held without the participation of Russia.

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov reported that Moscow would follow these negotiations. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted that if Saudi Arabia’s talks on Ukraine “help the West understand the whole dead end of the Zelensky plan, then they will not be useless.”

In early November 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at the G20 summit, listed 10 conditions for the “Ukrainian peace formula”, among which are the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the withdrawal of Russian troops from its territory, fixing the end of the conflict, as well as ensuring food and energy and nuclear safety. At the end of December 2022, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called Zelensky’s “peace formula” illusory. Based on it, Russia will not negotiate with anyone, he noted.
