The Russian Foreign Ministry promised not to leave unanswered the attack on the tanker in the Black Sea

The attack on the Russian tanker “Sig” in the Kerch Strait, for which Kyiv has already claimed responsibility, will not go unanswered, the report says. comments Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

“There can be no justification for such barbaric actions, they will not go unanswered, their authors and performers will inevitably be punished,” the report says.

Russia, Zakharova stressed, condemns this attack, which could lead not only to the death of civilians, but also to an environmental disaster. The Foreign Ministry also drew attention to the fact that Kyiv is using more and more terrorist methods without meeting condemnation from Western countries and international organizations.

At the same time, Zakharova’s commentary says that the head of the SBU, Vasily Malyuk, actually recognized Kyiv’s responsibility for the attack on the tanker, calling it “a legal, logical and effective step.”

On August 5, Rosmorrechflot reported that the Sig tanker of the St. Petersburg shipping company Transpetrochart received a hole in the engine room area, presumably as a result of a drone attack in the Kerch Strait. The ship remained afloat, the crew took measures to deal with the consequences of the leak, no one was injured. Volodymyr Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together with Russia movement, reported on his Telegram channel at night that a civilian ship was attacked by Ukrainian sea drones.

Later Rosmorrechflot informed on the arrival of a vessel with a diving station to the tanker for underwater technical work. Today, an examination of the damage to the ship will be carried out, and tomorrow – the repair work itself.

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev then accused Kyiv of wanting to arrange an ecological catastrophe in the Black Sea. After the attack, Ukrainian and Western resources began to distribute a video made by a surface kamikaze drone that blew up the tanker.

On August 2, the Ministry of Defense announced an attempt by Ukraine to attack a Russian Navy ship with an unmanned boat, which was escorting civilian sea transport in the southwestern part of the Black Sea. On the night of August 4, the Ukrainian side tried to attack the naval base in Novorossiysk with unmanned boats.
