The Russian Foreign Ministry did not see opportunities to improve relations with the United States

Moscow sees no way to improve relations with the United States in the medium term, said Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov.
His statement is quoted by RIA Novosti. The diplomat noted that despite all the difficulties, Russia has no doubt that the dialogue should be continued.
According to Antonov, Russia and the United States have a lot of areas for cooperation, such as strategic stability, non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, information security, climate change.
The ambassador said that instead of cooperating and engaging in dialogue, Washington has taken a course to “drive Russia out of everything.”
“But it is impossible to remove or cancel Russia,” Antonov said.
On September 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on the sidelines of the WEF that it was not possible to isolate the Russian Federation, no matter how much someone would like to. “You just need to look at the map,” Putin stressed.
