The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the drone attack on the Crimean bridge and called on the world community to evaluate the actions of the Ukrainian authorities. Statement published on the website of the diplomatic department.

The ministry stressed that the bridge is a purely civilian facility. Therefore, the Foreign Ministry expects that the international community will “show integrity” and assess the crime of the Ukrainian authorities.

The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Kyiv’s statement that the terrorist attack on the bridge was a joint operation of the Naval Forces and the Security Service of Ukraine confirms the involvement of the country’s political leadership and special services in the incident. “Even more cynical and monstrous was the reaction of a number of Ukrainian parliamentarians to the tragedy of the Kulik family. They began to sneer at human grief, which allows us to draw conclusions about the level of moral and mental development of Kyiv politicians,” the department stressed.

If it turns out that the drones that attacked the bridge are of Western origin, this will confirm their complicity in the attack, the Foreign Ministry warned. The department assured that the damage to the Crimean bridge would be eliminated as soon as possible, and Kyiv’s attempts to cut off the peninsula from the rest of Russia are obviously impossible.

On the night of July 17, Ukrainian surface drones attacked the Crimean bridge, killing two people – Aleksey and Natalya Kulik from the Belgorod region, who were driving on the bridge in a car. Their minor daughter was injured.

The Investigative Committee initiated a case on the fact of the attack about a terrorist attack, which, according to the agency, was being prepared on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services. The National Anti-Terrorism Committee said that the attack on the bridge was carried out by two Ukrainian unmanned surface vehicles. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that the response to the attack on the Crimean bridge would be to achieve all the goals of the special operation. In Ukraine, the damage to the Crimean bridge was called a “provocation”.
