The Russian Embassy in the UK: “The incident in Salisbury was fabricated to prepare the population for a confrontation with Russia”

The British authorities fabricated the 2018 Salisbury incident to prepare public opinion for a confrontation with Russia. This information was published in a statement by the Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom.

“In 2018, this provocation could still be seen as a single incident used to destroy the construct that was present at that moment in relations between our countries. Now we understand that official London was not interested in searching for the truth. The incident in Salisbury was fabricated to prepare the population and allies for a confrontation, which has now turned into a military-political plane in Ukraine, ”the diplomatic mission said in a statement.

The embassy also recalled the note sent to the British Foreign Office. It contains a demand to clarify the situation with the location and health of Sergei and Yulia Skripal.

Also, the Russian Embassy in the UK commented on the journalistic investigation by Sky News published on March 3 about the persecution of Russian-speaking citizens in the United Kingdom since the start of the SVO. The diplomatic mission noted that the information campaign unleashed by London to plant hostility has already led to more than a twofold increase in the number of cases of aggression against Russian and Russian-speaking local residents. Among the most egregious criminal acts documented by British law enforcement are battery, death threats, mailing white powder, vandalism and telephone terrorism.
