The Russian Embassy in Libya laughed at Washington’s warnings

The White House’s warning to the Libyan leadership due to rapprochement with Moscow causes laughter, it says in the Telegram channel of the Russian Embassy in Tripoli.
“For those who do not read Arabic: “The White House warned the LNA commander and all Libyan leaders against relying on [Владимира] Putin.” Washington continues to amuse us. We laughed all evening,” the Russian mission said in a statement.
September 28, press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov confirmed “RIA Novosti” that Putin held a meeting with the commander-in-chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Khalifa Haftar. According to him, the parties discussed the situation in Libya and the North African region.
The meeting was previously reported by the LNA press service: it announced on its Facebook page (the social network belongs to the Meta company, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) about Haftar’s arrival in Russia. The report noted that the leader of the Libyan army held meetings with Putin and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
Al-Hadath TV channel September 29 reported with reference to a White House representative that the United States is warning Haftar and other Libyan leaders against rapprochement with Moscow.
