The Russian embassy in Italy published on its Telegram channel a letter addressed to Luciano Fontana, editor-in-chief of the local newspaper Corriere della Sera, in response to an article criticizing Moscow. In its appeal, the diplomatic department of the Russian Federation accused the publication of provocation and inciting Russophobia.
“We consider it below our dignity to discuss with the author of this “work”, imbued with undisguised hatred for modern Russia and its people,” the message says.
In one of the materials of the Italian agency, a material was published, which states that Russia allegedly “poses a threat to Europe and European societies.”
The Russian embassy noted that they got acquainted with this material “with surprise and a considerable amount of disgust.” At the same time, Moscow expressed the hope that there are sane citizens in Italy who are unwilling to see Russia as an enemy.
