The Russian customs will refuse the equipment of the American Cisco by 2025

The Federal Customs Service (FTS) is going to fully import US Cisco telecom equipment by 2025, Deputy Head of the Department Denis Tereshchenko said on the sidelines of the Vedomosti Russian Microelectronics conference on June 23. He clarified that now the share of domestic equipment in the department’s network is approximately 60%.

“In replacing Cisco with Russian equipment from Eltex (a Novosibirsk company that produces its own line of routers, which are the main alternative to American hardware in the telecom industry. – Vedomosti), the FCS of Russia has currently advanced by about 60%. This is a planned replacement, there are specific solutions, we have been implementing them since 2020. We will carry out a complete replacement of Cisco telecom equipment with Eltex by 2025,” Tereshchenko told Vedomosti.
