The Russian championship in deaf sports in Greco-Roman wrestling ended in Orel. 38 athletes from 12 regions of the country took part in the competition. The best wrestlers were identified in the age group of 14-15 years.

One of the championship winners represented our region. Kirill Kornilov, a student of coach Fedor Bespaly, won a bronze medal in the 38 kg weight category. The Oryol athlete and other prize-winners were awarded by the champion of the Deaflympics in Greco-Roman wrestling, Vladimir Zaitsev.

The overall team standings among the regions were also determined. The Astrakhan region took first place, Moscow took second, and Irkutsk took third.

The next bouts of the Russian Deaf Sports Championship will take place on November 9 at the Grinn sports center. This section of the tournament will be dedicated to freestyle wrestling.
