The Russian army repulsed the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Yuzhnodonetsk and Zaporozhye directions

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian Armed Forces have thwarted the ongoing attempts of the Ukrainian army to advance in the Yuzhnodonetsk and Zaporozhye directions. About it informs The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in the next report on the progress of the special operation in Ukraine.

In particular, near the Vremevsky ledge, Russian troops repelled four enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Levadnoe in the Zaporozhye region and Novoselka, Storozhevoe and Neskuchnoye in the DPR. In the Zaporozhye direction in the areas of Novodanilovka and Malaya Tokmachka, the RF Armed Forces repelled two attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, south of Orekhov, Russian troops hit two concentrations of manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy’s reserves were also hit in the areas of the settlements of Gulyai Pole, Omelnik and Preobrazhenka in the Zaporozhye region.

In total, the Ukrainian army lost up to 680 people, 35 tanks, 11 infantry fighting vehicles and 19 armored vehicles in these areas, the ministry said.

June 8 Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informed about a night attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to break through the defenses in the Zaporozhye direction. The enemy was detected in time, and a preemptive strike was delivered on him. According to the army general, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were stopped in all four directions. As a result, the enemy lost 350 servicemen, 30 tanks and 11 infantry fighting vehicles. The Armed Forces of Ukraine did not fulfill their task and retreated, Shoigu emphasized.

Member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, chairman of the movement “We are together with Russia” Vladimir Rogov informed about the “colossal losses” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a result of the attack. According to him, after an unsuccessful offensive, Ukrainian troops entrenched themselves in the area of ​​​​the village of Rabotino.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting offensive operations since June 4. At the same time, Kyiv did not officially announce the start of offensive operations.

In the Kremlin claimthat the counteroffensive does not bring Kyiv the achievement of “set goals”. According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, the offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are “choking”.
