The Russian Aerospace Forces received new fifth-generation fighters Su-57

The Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia received from the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after. Yu.A. Gagarin (part of UAC) a new batch of fifth-generation production aircraft Su-57. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The Russian military also received new production fighters of the 4++ generation Su-35S. It is noted that the aircraft went through a full test cycle and were tested by pilots of the Ministry of Defense.

“The deliveries are being carried out as part of the state defense order, and by the end of 2023, Russian troops will receive the next stage of aircraft,” the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers quotes Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.

UAC General Director Yuri Slyusar clarified that the remaining fifth-generation Su-57 fighters are in the final assembly shop and are being tested at the flight test station. They will enter the Russian army by the end of 2023. According to him, the transferred batch of Su-35S was the third this year. Slyusar added that the following aircraft are “at a high degree of readiness” in production.

In June the CEO UAC promised increase the volume of supplies of Su-57 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces. In August, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with the head of the Rostec state corporation Sergei Chemezov, also called increase the share of production of the latest weapons and noted that the Su-57 and Su-35 fighters have “proven themselves excellently.”
