“Yesterday the head of the Bataysk administration and representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense visited the hero’s relatives. I know that Roman’s brother Alexey is already receiving the help he needs. I will definitely visit Roman’s mother, Olga Ivanovna,” Mr. Golubev wrote in Telegrampromising that “the family of a fellow countryman-hero will not be abandoned.”

The chairman of the “We are together with Russia” movement, Vladimir Rogov, spoke about the found brick with the inscription on December 16. He suggested that we were talking about a soldier of the 103rd regiment of the 150th motorized rifle division. The bodies of nine soldiers were found nearby; they will be sent for DNA testing, and the inscription itself will be “preserved.” On December 18, the head of the Ministry of Defense Sergei Shoigu instructed fulfill the last request of the serviceman and take care of his family.
