The Rosselkhoznadzor announced Vietnam’s interest in wheat and cherries from Russia

Vietnam is interested in the supply of Russian wheat, reported in the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor following a meeting between Deputy Head of Department Anton Karmazin and Deputy Director General of the Plant Protection Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Development of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Thu Huong.

“The parties expressed mutual interest in resuming the supply of Russian wheat,” the report says.

It is clarified that the Russian side proposed to consider the import of grain with “single specimens of the field cumin, as well as to determine the list of Vietnamese grain processing enterprises.” The Vietnamese delegation also declared the country’s interest in the supply of alfalfa and cherries from Russia.

“The representative of the Rosselkhoznadzor noted the positive experience of working with China in terms of alfalfa exports and expressed his readiness to work on harmonizing phytosanitary requirements for further opening deliveries,” the agency added.

July 7 Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev informedthat Russian grain exports at the end of the agricultural year (July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023) amounted to 60 million tons of grain. He rated the number as “unprecedented” and “record-breaking”.

Patrushev noted that the main volume was exported to friendly countries, and export earnings in 2022 exceeded $41 billion.
