The Romanian military discovered new fragments of a drone in the area of Plauru (Tulcea County) bordering Ukraine, allegedly similar to the devices used by the Russian army. About it reported on the website of the Romanian Ministry of Defense.

“After searching, fragments of a drone similar to those used by the Russian army were discovered,” the statement said.

Search activities took place 2.5 km from Plauru. The area around the discovered debris was cordoned off, and the debris itself was taken for examination.

6 September Romanian Minister of National Defense Angel Tulvar reported about the discovery of debris, presumably from a drone, near Plauru, bordering the Ukrainian Izmail in the Odessa region.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said then that if the Russian origin of the drones is confirmed, “the situation will be completely unacceptable.” This would amount to a “serious violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Romania,” he added, stressing that the country was on alert and in contact with NATO allies.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated the next day that the alliance had no information indicating a deliberate attack by Russia.

On the night of September 4, an air raid alert was announced in the Odessa region. Ukrainian media wrote about the explosions in Izmail. The Russian Ministry of Defense later reported a strike on a Ukrainian shipbuilding enterprise where unmanned boats are assembled. His location was not specified.
