The carrier rocket with the Meteor-M satellite was installed on the launch pad of the Vostochny cosmodrome. After that, Roscosmos specialists continued preparations for the launch. The launch is scheduled for June 27 at 14:34 Moscow time.
The Meteor-M satellite, which the rocket will launch into orbit, is designed to study the natural resources of the Earth. In addition, it can control the heliogeophysical situation. The satellite is equipped with the COSPAS-SARSAT system. It is needed for search and rescue. Another purpose of launching the device is to support all-weather radar monitoring of the Northern Sea Route.
In addition to Meteor-M, several dozen small satellites will be launched into orbit. These include CubeSat, devices under the Universat program and small satellites in the interests of Russian and foreign customers.
