The President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), Stanislav Pozdnyakov, said that after receiving recommendations from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on neutral status, the organization will completely stop funding the activities of such athletes.
“Among those athletes who will receive payments from the ROC, there will not be those who agreed to a neutral status…,” said the head of the organization Stanislav Pozdnyakov.
He added that the organization has stopped funding athletes with this status completely.
On December 8, it was reported that the IOC allowed Russia and Belarus to participate in the Olympics under a neutral flag. Those who have qualified in a specialized sport will be able to attend the Games. However, athletes will not be allowed to compete in team events.
Russian symbols will be banned in any form at official facilities and events.
Prior to this, Pozdnyakov assessed the actions of the IOC regarding citizens of the Russian Federation.
