The ring, which had been kept by a British collector for 28 years, turned out to be made around 100 BC. It is assumed that its first owner was a Celtic leader.
In 1994, a Briton bought a ring for “a couple of hundred pounds”, reports bbc.com. After 28 years, he took the artifact to the British Museum, where it was suggested that the ring was worn by the leader of the Korieltauvs, a Celtic tribe that previously owned part of the territory of modern Britain.
The ring is to be put up for auction and is valued at £30,000.
