On website The Russian Football Union (RFU) has announced the composition of the Russian national football team for the training camp, which will be held from October 9 to 16. A total of 29 people are included in the composition.
The team included:
goalkeepers: Matvey Safonov (Krasnodar), Ilya Lantratov (Lokomotiv), Ilya Pomazun (Ural);
defenders: Roman Evgeniev, Alexander Soldatenkov, Yuri Gorshkov (all – “Wings of the Soviets”), Maxim Osipenko (“Rostov”), Alexander Silyanov (“Lokomotiv”), Georgy Dzhikia (“Spartak”), Sergei Volkov (“Krasnodar”), Arsen Adamov (Orenburg), Evgeny Kharin (Akhmat), Artem Makarchuk (Sochi);
midfielders: Dmitry Barinov, Artem Karpukas, Anton Miranchuk, Maxim Glushenkov, Sergei Pinyaev (all – Lokomotiv), Danil Glebov, Daniil Utkin (both – Rostov), Maxim Mukhin, Ivan Oblyakov (both CSKA), Daler Kuzyaev (” Le Havre”), Daniil Fomin (Dynamo), Alexey Miranchuk (Atalanta), Alexander Golovin (Monaco);
forwards: Alexander Sobolev (Spartak), Fedor Chalov (CSKA), Ivan Sergeev (Zenit).
For the first time, Gorshkov and Kharin were included in the national team. As part of the training camp, Russia will play against the Cameroon team on October 12 at the VTB Arena in Moscow. The International Football Federation (FIFA) will take the game into account in its rankings.
The previous training camp of the Russian national team took place from September 4 to 12. As part of the training camp, Russia (players under 23 years old) played two friendly matches with the Egyptian Olympic team (under 23 years old). The first match ended in a draw – 1:1, the second – in defeat, 1:2. In addition, the Russian national team with football players without age restrictions played a draw – 1:1 – with the Qatar team.
After the outbreak of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, FIFA and the Union of European Football Associations suspended the Russian national team from international competitions.
