The fact that it went all the way to penalties speaks volumes about the tenacity of the tournament; no one wants to give in without a fight.
In Group A, Simferopol “Tavriya” played away against Bakhchisarai “Kyzyltash”. The main time of the match ended with the result – 0 goals, two deletions (one in each team, and at the same time). And since, according to the regulations, the cup match could not end in a draw, they resorted to football roulette – taking post-match penalties. Football luck smiled on the Simferopol team – 2:4.
And in Group B, the match in Kerch, where the local “Ocean” and the Sevastopol “Chernomorets” met, did not reveal a winner in regulation time. True, unlike the match in Bakhchisarai, there were as many as 4 goals.
In this match, it seemed that “Ocean” simply had to win. In the 15th minute, the referee sent off Sevastopol resident Nikita Popov, and the rest of the time the Kerch team played in the majority. In the 63rd minute, the referee awarded a penalty to the Sevastopol team, but Kerchan Azat Zakaev failed to convert it.
And then “Ocean” finally started scoring and led 2:0 – Alexander Morev’s goal in the 68th minute was followed by a scoring strike from Vladislav Kondratyuk in the 72nd. And yet, the Sevastopol team bounced back – thanks to the efforts of Evgeniy Strelov, who scored a double in the 85th and second added minutes.
And in the final of such a match, missed opportunities for “Ocean”, the Kerch team also lost a series of penalty kicks – 4:5.
