The results of the Interdisciplinary Convergent Education Olympiad were summed up in Moscow

The city methodological center of the capital’s Department of Education and Science summed up the results of the VIII Interdisciplinary Convergent Education Olympiad, which was attended by 576 tenth-graders studying in pre-professional classes.
The competition was held in three stages: first, the guys took an online test for two hours and solved problems where it was required to “apply” the knowledge of mathematics, biology, chemistry, geography, physics, computer science and English. Those who scored the maximum number of points were invited to the second, also extramural stage of the Olympiad, where the guys, under the supervision of video cameras, also solved interdisciplinary problems. But they needed to give already detailed answers. In particular, the schoolchildren interpreted the scheme of an electronic device based on the Arduino electronic kit and calculated the parameters of a cooling device for a marine aquarium.
Twelve tenth-graders reached the final of the Olympiad. It was already in full-time format. In the digital laboratory, the finalists had to complete practical tasks using special equipment and a basic set of robotic tools. For example, they had to determine from which region a particular water sample was taken, based on their own measurements made using sensors in a digital laboratory.
The victory in the interdisciplinary Olympiad was won by students of two schools – school No. 2065 and school No. 1564 named after the Hero of the Soviet Union A.P. Beloborodov. The tenth graders of schools No. 1564 and school No. 627 named after General D. D. Lelyushenko became the winners.

The Interdisciplinary Convergent Education Olympiad has been held since 2016. Its goal is to support and increase the motivation of schoolchildren to study. And the main feature is the interdisciplinarity of tasks. To solve them, not only knowledge of school subjects is required, but also non-standard thinking.
