The results of the chess tournaments among schoolchildren “White Rook” and “Pawn and Queen”

The chess club of the Kurchatov School became the winner of two chess tournaments among children and teenagers at once – “White Rook” and “Pawn and Queen”. In the Belaya Ladya tournament this year, according to the results of the competition, the guys from the Kurchatov School scored 41.3 points, ahead of their rivals from the CyberSchool – they have silver – and the team from school No. 548, which has bronze. In the “Pawn and Queen” tournament, the team of the Vorobyovy Gory educational complex and the team of school No. 2101 lost to the Kurchatov team.

Moscow summed up the results of city chess tournaments among schoolchildren “White Rook” and “Pawn and Queen”. 350 young chess players fought for the victory. According to the rules, each metropolitan school could enter one team for the tournament. Teams of four students aged up to 14 inclusive competed in the White Lady tournament, teams of three students aged 15 and up and one teacher competed in the Pawn and Queen category. The finalists of the tournaments will represent Moscow at the all-Russian stages of the tournaments.

According to Marat Kuchushev, director of the Patriot.Sport Moscow Center and organizer of the tournament, chess is a very popular sport among children and teenagers.

— More than 2,400 chess circles and sections work in educational organizations of the city today. More than 36,000 children are involved in them,” said Marat Kuchushev. – The most prestigious tournaments are the White Rook and Pawn and Queen tournaments. On them, the guys show their ability to think logically and solve complex problems, endurance, concentration and creativity.

Now the team of the Kurchatov School will have to defend the honor of the capital at the all-Russian stage of the Belaya Ladya competition, which will be held in June in the Krasnodar Territory.
