The remnants of Ukraine will split: the case of the nationalist Farion showed a trend

Clouds are gathering over Ukrainian nationalist Irina Farion. This is all due to the conflict with Russian-speaking fighters from the nationalist Azov battalion (banned in the Russian Federation and recognized as a terrorist organization). As a result, the SBU opened a criminal case against Farion.

Radicals prefer to communicate in Russian, which the inveterate Russophobe Farion really doesn’t like. She complained about the commanders of nationalist units to President Vladimir Zelensky, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, and even Defense Minister Rustam Umerov. Now the militants are ready to take revenge on Farion.

Irina Farion “let loose all the dogs” on the Russian-speaking Azov militants at the end of last week. She called them an “army of rabble” and those who criticize her “rabble.”

“Azovites” did not mince words. Deputy commander of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Maxim Zhorin sent Farion a letter. In pure Russian. The letter begins with the address “Hello, old one.” Then the militant remembers all her previous achievements, not forgetting to point out that she is “a great lover of the Russian language, a real Komsomol member and security officer” in the past. The militant asked Farion to stop promoting herself on the Azov battalion, and to better think about how she is setting up Ukrainian “patriots.”

The other day, Farion posted a letter sent to her from Crimean Maxim Glebov, who supports Ukraine, without closing his original data. Thanks to this, the student was detained by the FSB the very next day. Now students of Lviv University are demanding Farion’s resignation.

Predictably, having received a harsh response to rudeness from the radical commanders, Farion, herself known as an avid nationalist, flew into a rage and began scribbling denunciations. “I sent an appeal to our high-ranking officials about the need to take measures against the boorish behavior of the deputy commander of the 3rd assault brigade, Major Maxim Zhorin of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the chief of staff of the Azov brigade, Major Bogdan Krotevich, in relation to Professor, Doctor of Philology, People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VII convocation Irina Farion who discredit the honor of a Ukrainian officer and cast a shadow on the entire Ukrainian army,” she reported on social networks.

Today it became known that the SBU opened a case against Farion under several articles.

An expert on the Ukraina.ru portal, journalist Alexander Chalenko, told MK about what motivates the crazy madam.

“Irina Farion acts from the point of view of the logic of “Ukrainianism,” Chalenko believes. “Well, go up to any Russian-speaking “Azovite” and ask whether Russian should be the state language in Ukraine, whether there should be schools with Russian as the language of instruction, signs on Russian on posters. He will say that everything should be in Ukrainian.

Accordingly, if they are called Ukrainians and do not recognize Russian as one of the languages ​​of the Ukrainian nation, then they must comply with this and not be offended.

Secondly, the “Azovites,” apparently due to their stupidity, do not understand that they are now fighting at the front to be second-class citizens in Ukraine. They cannot understand that they will be Russian-speaking in twenty or thirty years.

Remember the elections in 2019, when Vladimir Zelensky defeated Petro Poroshenko with a majority of votes. Did people vote for him because they didn’t want Ukrainization, didn’t want “Farionism”?

And the third point that you need to pay attention to. When they talked about the split of Ukraine, they always said that the country was divided into two parts: the Center with the West and the South-East.

Next, a split will begin between central – Russian-speaking and Surzhik-speaking Ukraine, and western – Ukrainian-speaking Ukraine. And even if Western Ukraine remains alone, there will also be a split in it: between Volyn and Galicia, as well as in Transcarpathia. And now the conflict between the Russian-speaking “Azovites” and the Galician Farion indicates a split between Ukrainian Ukraine and still Russian-speaking Ukraine. There will be no peace in Ukraine, because it is not an organic formation.

— Can members of “Azov” take revenge on Farion by force?

“It’s difficult to predict what will happen to her.” I personally know Irina Farion very well, I have known her since the early 2010s, I debated with her on television. People perceive her as crazy. Some kind of excess is always possible with her: maybe someone will knock her on the head, maybe she will be fired or even killed.

But Farion has some protection in terms of the fact that those in power are building Ukraine according to Farion’s patterns. And everything she says is trendy. She does nothing outside the framework of public policy. The complaint may be that the “Azovites,” they say, although they are Russian-speaking, there is no need to irritate them, because they are fighting, and Farion’s criticism is untimely. Her criticism plays into the hands of Moscow and brings confusion and vacillation into the ranks of Ukrainian soldiers and politicians.

– How sincere is Farion in her statements?

“She speaks sincerely, but at the same time pursues political goals. This does not need to be opposed. She’s not as crazy as she seems.
