Putin met with representatives of the Central Election Commission in Novo-Ogarevo – Kommersant

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with representatives of the Central Election Commission and heads of regional election commissions. At the Novo-Ogarevo residence, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the electoral system of the Russian Federation, the President presented government awards. They were received, among others, by the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, and representatives of election commissions from the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). Mrs. Pamfilova was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree.

The President noted that the leadership of the Central Election Commission has done everything to ensure that the Russian electoral system responds to all challenges. In particular, he meant voting in new regions. “Thank you for your courage and loyalty,” Vladimir Putin thanked representatives of the election commissions of the new territories.

“People in the elections in new regions, who voted under fire, set an example for everyone how to work and achieve results,” said Vladimir Putin.

The President stressed that internal and external attempts to interfere in Russia’s electoral process will be resolutely suppressed. He also outlined the need for educational work of the Central Election Commission.

Presidential elections in Russia will be held in 2024. The date of the elections has not yet been announced. Vladimir Putin has not yet announced his decision to run. On November 14, the president signed amendments to the election law that limit photo and video filming at polling stations, as well as the procedure for holding elections under martial law.
