The representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mauro Vignati, called for starting to mark critical sites, the failure of which could pose a risk to human life and health. Speaking at the conference The Kaspersky Security Analyst Summit (SAS), he drew attention to the increasing frequency of cyber attacks on healthcare organizations around the world, in connection with this, in his opinion, there is a need to create a digital logo for relevant Internet resources.
Among the advantages of creating such a digital emblem, according to Mr. Vignati, is increasing the security of significant objects; among the risks is the possibility of incorrect use of the digital emblem, as well as attracting the attention of intruders. At the moment, the initiative is being discussed with lawyers and IT experts, added Mauro Vignati.
The ICRC is seeking support to create a digital equivalent of the Red Cross and Crescent emblem, publication Cnews reported in October 2022. The idea is that hackers intruding into the network resources of medical institutions will immediately understand where they are and whose networks they are trying to attack.
