RIA Novosti: Ukrainians reacted negatively to the possibility of linking reservation to salary

Residents of the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Kherson region reacted negatively to the possibility of linking mobilization reservations to the level of wages or the amount of taxes paid. The agency reports this RIA News with reference to his own source in Russian security forces.

It is stated that if such an approach is introduced, the majority of those liable for military service in the region will become part of the mobilization resource. According to sources, the initiative led to a sharp increase in protest sentiments in the front-line regions of Ukraine, where there are practically no jobs with a salary level that falls under the condition of providing reservation. Thus, according to the initiative, the deferment must be canceled for those whose income is less than 35 thousand hryvnia.

“This information has already provoked an explosive growth of anti-government sentiments and social tension among low-income segments of the population. Particularly strong negativity on their part is manifested in relation to Ukrainians whose income level exceeds the specified “conscription minimum,” which allows them to avoid mobilization,” the agency writes, citing its own source.

Currently, reservations are received by citizens working in government and local governments, at defense enterprises, as well as in institutions and organizations that are critical to the economy and livelihoods of citizens.

Let us remind you that the bill providing for paid reservation from mobilization became known back in January of this year. It was then assumed that employees of enterprises in all industries will be able to receive a guaranteed deferment when paying a certain amount each month.
