The Moscow prosecutor’s office began checking the rapper and music producer Legalize (real name Andrey Menshikov) under Part 1 of Art. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation). Also, the “competent authorities” will consider the issue of recognizing the musician as a foreign agent, a representative of the department told TASS.
He clarified that the clip for the Legalize track “Peace!! Yours!! Home!!” also checked under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (production and distribution of extremist materials). The review will last approximately until the end of August.
Vitaly Borodin, head of the federal project for security and combating corruption (FPBK), filed a complaint against the perpetrator with the Prosecutor General’s Office. He stated that in July, in an interview with Yuri Dudyu (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation), Legalize condemned the Russian military operation in Ukraine, calling it a war, and compared the Russian Federation with Germany during the formation of the Third Reich. Mr. Borodin is also convinced that the clip “Peace!! Yours!! Home!!” discredits the Russian president, government and military, and contains signs of extremism.
Vitaly Borodin has repeatedly asked the Prosecutor General’s Office and other departments to check various Russian figures for a number of administrative and criminal violations. On his initiative, psychologist Lyudmila Petranovskaya check to discredit the army and foreign funding. He also sent complaints against Liya Akhedzhakova, Alla Pugacheva, Semyon Slepakov (recognized as a foreign agent), Diana Arbenina, Valery Meladze, Danila Kozlovsky.
