The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office will prepare a claim for seizure in favor of the state of Klimovsky Specialized Cartridge Plant CJSC. The document will be sent to the court in the near future, reports RBC with reference to a source in government agencies and another source familiar with the situation at the enterprise. In early January, an accident occurred at a boiler house owned by the company, which left residents of 173 apartment buildings in the Klimovsk microdistrict of Podolsk without heating.

“A procedure has been launched to seize the plant’s shares from the family of entrepreneur Boris Krasnov, who is currently on the wanted list and hiding from investigation abroad. There is an order from the president, a lawsuit from the Prosecutor General’s Office is being prepared, which will soon go to court,” a source in government agencies told the publication.

Rostec told RBC that now 36% of the plant’s shares belong to the state corporation, the majority share is in the hands of private owners. The publication’s interlocutor in government agencies said that in October 2023, Boris Krasnov’s daughter Olga Nikishova “donated” 10% of the company’s shares to Rostec.

A source familiar with the results of the inspection of the plant told RBC that security forces have resumed investigations into criminal cases against individuals accused of stealing the company’s shares between 2002 and 2010. The cases are being investigated under articles of fraud on an especially large scale (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), falsification of evidence in a civil case (Part 1 of Article 303 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), legalization of funds acquired as a result of the commission of a crime (Clause “ a” part 3 of article 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and (clause “b” of part 4 of article 174 of the Criminal Code) and legalization of funds on an especially large scale (clause “b” of part 4 of article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), stated the publication’s interlocutor.

On January 4, due to an accident in the boiler room, residents of 173 apartment buildings in Klimovsk were left without heating. The authorities of Podolsk have introduced a local state of emergency. The head of the boiler house and the general director of the Klimovsky specialized cartridge plant were detained. On January 9, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, asked to transfer the boiler house to municipal ownership. Later, Rostec announced its readiness to take control of the Klimovsky cartridge plant.
