The Pension Fund of the Russian Federation (PFR) is being checked by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation due to violations by a number of regional divisions of the fund for the payment of benefits for children. This was reported in the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Earlier, citizens began to complain about wrongful denials of child benefits relying on minors under the age of 17 years. Since the violations were widespread, the State Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation began an audit of the fund’s activities.
As a result of the audit in the regions of the country, thousands of decisions to refuse payments, which were unlawful, were reviewed. The denials of payments were motivated by the fact that the citizens who applied for payments had an income that exceeded the regional subsistence level. However, there were errors in the calculation of incomes, the incomes of families were unreasonably overestimated.
