Prosecutor General of Tajikistan Rahmon sent a telegram to Krasnov due to the detention of migrants in Russia
Tajik Prosecutor General Yusuf Rahmon sent an urgent telegram to Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, the press service of the country’s Prosecutor General’s Office reported. The message expresses concern about the information about the detention of a group of labor migrants from Tajikistan.
The telegram was sent in connection with the mass detention of labor migrants and their ill-treatment, as well as the detention of a large number of Tajik students.
Rahmon asked his Russian colleagues to check the actions of individual police officers in relation to the citizens of Tajikistan, and then give an appropriate legal assessment.
In recent weeks, Tajikistan has been saying that Russian law enforcement officers are detaining migrants. It was, in particular, about the situation in the dormitory of the State University in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and the raid on the outskirts of the capital of Russia.
