The project of the new resident of “Mountain Air” will bring Sakhalin to the TOP-5 ski resorts in Russia

The construction of the ski infrastructure of the well-known Sakhalin sports and tourist complex will be carried out by the new resident of the Advanced Development Territory (TOR) Gorny Vozdukh, the Mantera-Sakhalin company (owned by the Mantera Group, which manages large tourist assets, including the Krasnaya Polyana resort). As part of a public-private partnership until 2030, the investor is implementing a major tourism project that will allow Sakhalin to enter the TOP-5 ski resorts of the Russian Federation. Under an agreement with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (KRDV), the volume of investments will exceed 5.2 billion rubles, the press service of the regional government reported.

“Large-scale work on the “Mountain Air” involves the construction of 45 kilometers of tracks of varying complexity on the slopes of the mountain peaks Krasnaya and Ostraya, as well as two suspended passenger cable cars of the gondola type. In addition, as part of the development of the complex, an artificial snow system will be installed and snowmobile equipment will be purchased,” said Anton Zaitsev, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government.

Thus, the resident of the ASEZ “Mountain Air” plans to implement the concept of an integrated resort. The planned tourist flow will be 600 thousand tourists a year. The project is also important from a social point of view – about 160 residents of the Sakhalin Region will receive new jobs.

The emphasis was made on the specialty “hotel business”. On the basis of the School of Economics and Management of the Far Eastern Federal University, we plan to hold seminars, lectures, interactive activities and share the experience that our company has accumulated in managing the largest tourism projects in Russia. We have been tasked with preparing practice-oriented and immersed in the nuances of the hospitality industry by the completion of the construction of tourism projects in the Far East, who will remain in their region, developing it and making it better, ”said Konstantin Lezhenin, Director of Mantera-Sakhalin LLC.

“Today Sakhalin is one of the leaders in the tourism industry in the Far East, and the key point of attraction is the ski resort located in the very center of the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. We are glad that the region attracts not only travelers, but also new investors who are ready to invest in the development of the hospitality sector and create new facilities, promote event tourism – sports, cultural, ethnographic, gastronomic. Under the unified management of Mantera-Sakhalin, an urban environment, an architectural code, service standards, and trained personnel will be created. In fact, with the help of state support measures that the ASEZ resident will receive, the local resort will become a mini-city with a full range of tourist and city services that will be provided according to the highest international standards, ”said Mikhail Aleshin, director of the KRDV Sakhalin and the Kuriles.

Under agreements with the KRDV, 32 projects are currently being implemented at the Gorny Vozdukh ASEZ. Residents have invested 15.7 billion rubles, created more than 1,140 jobs, 7 projects have already been successfully launched, including a restaurant complex on the top of Mount Bolshevik, an Alpine-style apart-hotel, a shopping and entertainment center and a number of hotels, as well as new airport complex.
