The Progress MS-26 cargo spacecraft, launched on a Soyuz-2.1a rocket, docked with the Russian Zvezda module on the International Space Station (MSS). The docking was carried out at 9:06 Moscow time, reported “Roscosmos”.
Ship was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on February 15. Progress delivered 2518 kg of cargo to the ISS. In particular, 1,478 kg of equipment and equipment for station systems, 580 kg of fuel, 420 kg of water, 40 kg of nitrogen, as well as clothing, food, medical and sanitary products for the crew were delivered.
The cargo ship will stay in orbit for 180 days. The crew of Expedition 70 is currently working on the ISS. It includes Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko, Nikolai Chub and Konstantin Borisov, NASA astronauts Jasmine Moghbeli and Laural O’Hara, European Space Agency astronaut Andreas Mogensen and Japanese astronaut Satoshi Furukawa.
In October 2023, specialists from Roscosmos and NASA reported about a coolant leak from the reserve radiator in the Nauka module of the Russian segment of the ISS. Head of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov explained increased frequency of emergency situations on the ISS due to her age. International partners on the ISS have extended its operation until 2030, Russian Government – until 2028.
