The Russian government has extended for the current year the program of simplified admission to universities for Russian students who previously studied in foreign educational institutions. Residents of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions annexed to Russia will also have the opportunity to enter universities in a simplified form. About it reported Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“Specially, we gave such students and graduate students the opportunity to credit disciplines in order to continue their education in one of the domestic universities of their choice and, most importantly, for free. We are extending this program for the current year. Students from new regions of Russia will also be able to apply under the simplified procedure, if the universities where they studied ended up in an unfriendly state,” Mr. Mishustin said during a meeting with deputy prime ministers.
Entrance tests for such students this year, by analogy with the last admission campaign, will be held in a simplified manner, which will be established at the university itself. The course a student can be enrolled in will be determined on an individual basis based on their achievements.
Decree according to which Russian students, groundlessly expelled from European universities, can continue their education in Russian universities for free, Mikhail Mishustin signed at the end of March 2022. According to the Prime Minister, last year Russian universities accepted in a simplified manner, 2.5 thousand students who were expelled from the universities of “unfriendly states”.
