The head of the UJR Solovyov: 80% of journalists in regional publications are girls
The profession of “journalist” is becoming female, said Vladimir Solovyov, head of the Union of Journalists of Russia. Thus, according to his data, 80% of regional publications are women.
He noted that there are many who want to become journalists, but, “surprisingly, it is mostly girls who go into the profession.”
“For better or worse, our profession is becoming feminine,” Solovyov stated at a lecture for RANEPA students. In the future, according to him, the profession will gradually develop a special look.
The head of the UJR believes that men tend to “chopping from the shoulder” and “read obliquely”, while women are “more attentive” when performing their professional duties.
