He was charged with organizing mass riots
Victim in a high-profile case of torture in the Irkutsk pre-trial detention center Ruslan Lemov was taken into custody Friday afternoon. It is noteworthy that on October 9, the man’s prison term in the main criminal case was expiring, and he was supposed to be released.
As we learned, on October 3, as part of a separate criminal case, he was charged with organizing mass riots in a FSIN institution.
The riots in the Angarsk colony occurred 3.5 years ago, but only now, unexpectedly, Lemov was among the accused. By the way, it was he who was especially active in demanding that those who tortured him be held criminally liable – violent acts of a sexual nature were committed against Lemov. He demanded that not only “activists” (prisoners who cooperate with the colony administration) be held accountable, but also employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service. Let us note that the beaten Lemov was not given any assistance for several days.
His disabled father came to select a preventive measure for Lemov. Both he and Lemov’s lawyer believe that the new arrest is revenge for the prisoner’s attempts to obtain punishment for his tormentors.
