The Prime Minister of Slovakia criticized those who persecute hockey players playing in the KHL

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico criticized those who persecute hockey players, including compatriots, for their performance in the Russian Kontinental Hockey League.

He called this position “false” and harmful, and recalled that hockey players from Russia are not persecuted in the USA and Canada. At the same time, according to him, the Slovak hockey player Julius Hudacek, who played in Russia, was subsequently banned from performing in the Czech Republic and found a club in Germany.

“But there are a number of fantastic Russians and Belarusians who play in the NHL. No one there dares to say anything against this,” Fico said, calling on people not to mix politics and sports.

He also named the Kontinental Hockey League as the second best league in the world.

“After all, every athlete wants to play in a good and high-quality league. That’s why he goes there to earn money and play quality hockey. However, he is not involved in politics there, he plays hockey there,” said the Prime Minister of Slovakia.
