Priest Oleg: Ukrainian prisoners of war ask not to exchange them for fear of death

Priest Oleg said that Ukrainian prisoners of war are surprised at the good treatment they receive in Russian captivity. Among other things, Ukrainian soldiers are asking not to be included in the exchange lists because they do not want to die for the Kyiv government.

He clarified that prisoners of war have separate barracks, three meals a day with calorie calculations and new clothes.

“Here in Russia they don’t need anything at all. The only request from them was not to add them to the list for exchange, since they no longer want to end up in this meat grinder,” Father Oleg noted after communicating with prisoners of war in one of the colonies.

According to him, Ukrainian soldiers said that Russian soldiers who were captured by Ukrainians were treated poorly.

“The attitude towards Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine is such that many soldiers experience both physical impact and moral breakdown. This was told by Ukrainian prisoners of war, who were very surprised by the attitude towards them here in Russia,” noted priest Oleg.
