Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss (United Russia) may leave his post in the spring, reported Vedomosti with reference to sources. The governor’s spokesman, Sergei Zyblev, said he had no information about the possible resignation of Mr. Uss.
Vedomosti refers to three interlocutors close to the presidential administration. According to one of them, Alexander Uss has low ratings. Who can replace him is not specified.
“The press service does not have such information. Alexander Uss is working according to plan, he is in Krasnoyarsk, today he has a number of work events planned, ”the governor’s press secretary told RIA Novosti.
Alexander Uss was elected to the position in September 2018. Prior to that, he headed the regional parliament for 20 years. In October 2022, his son Artem detained in Italy at the request of the US, which accuses him of money laundering and sanctions circumvention. He’s under house arrest in Milan, father blame son denies.
According to well-informed Kommersant sources, the situation of Alexander Uss and the head of Khakassia, Valentin Konovalov (KPRF), is the worst assessed in the presidential administration. But in both cases, Kommersant’s interlocutors do not predict unequivocal resignations.
