IOC President Bach said he is striving to return the Russians to international competitions
The head of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, said that the organization seeks to return Russians and Belarusians to international competitions. He told reporters about this during a visit to China.
“We are making every effort to fulfill the mission, position of the Olympic movement and return Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions,” he said.
In his opinion, the 2024 Olympics in Paris can “unite the whole world” if athletes from the Russian Federation and Belarus take part in it in a neutral status.
Earlier, Ukraine banned its athletes from participating in qualifying starts for the Olympics, in which Russians and Belarusians participate.
