Another guest of Putin at the Victory Parade will be Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Prior to this, the only foreign leader whose visit is planned to Russia on Victory Day was the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, Vedomosti wrote.
Tomorrow, May 9, the Victory Parade will take place on Red Square in Moscow. Putin will take part in it and make a speech. There will be no traditional reception in the Kremlin this year. Usually on Victory Day, the president met in the Kremlin with veterans of the Great Patriotic War. The last time this event was held in 2019. In 2020 and 2021. The reception was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and last year it also did not take place.
In 2022, there was not a single foreign leader at the Victory Day parade, which took place 2.5 months after the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine. The Kremlin explained that at that time it was decided not to invite guests, since the date of the celebration is not an anniversary.
